\n House Oversight Chair James Comer and other Republican lawmakers are calling on the Justice Department to investigate allegations involving two\u202fmen accused of sexually abusing Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s longtime assistant, according to a letter provided first to CNN.\n <\/p>

\n The\u202fnew\u202fpressure from the Republican\u202flawmakers\u202fstems from\u202ftestimony\u202fthe panel received last month from\u202fthe\u202fassistant, Sarah Kellen.\n <\/p>\n

\n In her closed-door interview, Kellen\u202fsaid\u202fFrederic Fekkai, a French celebrity hairstylist,\u202fand\u202fPhilip Levine, the former mayor of Miami\u202fBeach,\u202fsexually\u202fassaulted\u202fher in separate incidents. She alleged that a third individual, Patrick\u202fDemarchelier, a French fashion photographer,\u202fexposed himself to her,\u202faccording to a\u202fnewly released\u202ftranscript.\n <\/p>\n

\n Comer\u2019s letter\u202fto Acting Attorney\u202fGeneral Todd\u202fBlanche\u202fasked the Justice Department to\u202finvestigate\u202f \u201cthe allegations against, and any other criminal conduct committed by\u201d Fekkai\u202fand\u202fLevine\u202fin particular, noting\u202fLevine\u202fappears in the\u202fso-called Epstein files\u202f600 times\u202fand that\u202fFekkai\u202fwas known as a \u201cclose friend\u201d to Epstein.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cMs. Kellen provided\u202fnew information\u202fcrucial to our investigation that is helping to bring transparency for the American people and accountability for survivors. During her transcribed interview, the Oversight Committee received serious allegations of criminal misconduct involving two individuals,\u201d\u202fComer said in a statement. \u201cThe Oversight Committee is not a law enforcement entity, and our role is not to\u202fdetermine\u202fguilt or innocence. We are referring these allegations to the Department of Justice, which has the tools to investigate criminal misconduct.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Comer\u2019s office provided the letter to CNN along with the transcript of Kellen\u2019s interview,\u202fwhich offers\u202fnew\u202fdetails\u202fof her allegations\u202fagainst the\u202fthree men she\u202faccused of\u202fsexual\u202fmisconduct, as well as\u202fdescribing\u202fher\u202finteractions with Epstein\u202fand\u202faccomplice\u202fGhislaine\u202fMaxwell.\n <\/p>\n

\n None of the men have been charged with a crime in connection with Epstein, and Comer\u202fhas\u202fsaid\u202fthe committee\u202fdid\u202fnot previously\u202fknow\u202fof allegations of sexual abuse against them.\n <\/p>\n

\n A\u202fmedia representative for\u202fFekkai\u202fsaid in a statement to CNN that Fekkai \u201cnever \u2018took advantage\u2019 of Sarah Kellen and he did not introduce her to Jeffrey Epstein.\u201d The representative\u202fpreviously disputed that\u202fFekkai\u202fhad done anything wrong, and specified \u201cMr. Fekkai never assaulted anyone.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cMr. Fekkai was astonished to\u202fread of\u202fMs. Kellen\u2019s testimony. Mr. Fekkai never abused anyone. He never\u202fparticipated\u202fin any illegal behavior. He knew nothing about Epstein\u2019s repugnant depravity or trafficking. He did nothing wrong,\u201d the representative, Mark Herr, said previously.\n <\/p>\n

\n A spokesperson for Levine said in a statement for this story, \u201cNearly a quarter century ago, our client had a brief intimate encounter with another consenting adult. Any allegation suggesting otherwise is not true.\u201d Earlier\u202fthis year, Levine told WLRN in a statement that he had only met Epstein \u201ca few times\u201d and regretted it.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cAs I have\u202fstated\u202fpreviously, my only connection to Jeffrey Epstein arose solely through my former friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell. I met Epstein only a few times. I never conducted business with him, never visited his\u202fisland\u202fand never flew on his aircraft. I\u202fregret ever\u202fmeeting him,\u201d he said at the time.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen\u2019s\u202falleged\u202finteractions with\u202fFekkai\u202fand\u202fLevine\n<\/h2>\n

\n According to the transcript of her interview, Kellen said she initially met\u202fFekkai\u202fin\u202f2000\u202for 2001\u202fin Honolulu, while he was promoting his hair care line.\u202fFekkai, she\u202fsaid,\u202fintroduced her to Epstein as a \u201cVictoria\u2019s Secret model scout.\u201d\u202fShe recalled knowing who\u202fFekkai was, given that she was \u201cobsessed\u201d with fashion at the time, and later came to realize his description of Epstein\u202fas a\u202fmodel scout\u202fwas misleading.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cClearly, he was not a Victoria\u2019s Secret scout, and that\u2019s what they were posturing him to be,\u201d\u202fKellen said.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen testified that Fekkai asked her to be in a hair show that \u201cdidn\u2019t exist,\u201d\u202fand\u202fthat she ended\u202fup\u202fstaying in\u202fhis hotel room because\u202fshe\u202fdidn\u2019t\u202fhave the money to buy a separate room.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cHe took advantage of me that night,\u201d Kellen said in her closed-door interview.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen told lawmakers\u202fthat \u202fLevine\u202fabused her in 2002 or 2003 in\u202fSaint Tropez, where she was with Epstein and Maxwell, who were vacationing.\u202fShe\u202fdescribed Levine as one of Maxwell\u2019s \u201creally good friends\u201d and\u202falleged that Levine\u202fassaulted her\u202fafter Epstein and Maxwell went to bed, according to the transcript.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cHe brought me into his bedroom and said, you know, you must be so lonely, always with them and never \u2013 not having your own life and kind of not being able to be with anyone, kind of, and was -basically forced himself on me,\u201d Kellen said.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen alleged that Levine also assaulted her on the beach.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe were kind of all walking, and I\u202fthink it was\u202fJeffrey and Ghislaine were\u202fkind of ahead\u202fof us, and then there was me and Philip. And then there was, like, this wooden kind of shack on the beach. And he just, like, grabbed my hand and pulled me into the shack,\u201d she told lawmakers.\u202f\u202fShe said she never considered pursuing sexual assault charges.\n <\/p>

\n Kellen also described an instance\u202fthat\u202fshe said occurred around 2002\u202fin\u202fwhich \u202fFrench\u202ffashion photographer\u202fPatrick\u202fDemarchelier\u202fexposed himself to her\u202fin his studio\u202fafter\u202fhe took photos of her.\u202f\u201cHe walked over to me with his pants down, and I refused.\u201d\u202fShe did not provide further details.\u202fCNN has\u202fattempted\u202fto reach representatives of\u202fDemarchelier, who died in 2022.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen is a polarizing figure in Epstein\u2019s orbit whose work with the disgraced late financier gave her access to significant information on his activities. In 2007, she was labeled by law enforcement as one of Epstein\u2019s potential co-conspirators, and many believe she helped him recruit and abuse girls. She has described herself as a victim of Epstein\u2019s abuse.\u202fKellen\u202ftestified that she\u202fwas not interviewed by law enforcement about her time working for Epstein until\u202f2019.\n <\/p>\n

\n In\u202fher\u202finterview,\u202fKellen also\u202foffered\u202fmore\u202fdetail\u202fabout the alleged abuse she\u202fsaid she\u202fsuffered at the hands of\u202fEpstein and Maxwell,\u202fwho is currently serving a\u202f20-year\u202fprison sentence.\u202fEpstein, she\u202fsaid,\u202fsometimes\u202fabused her\u202fon a \u201cweekly basis,\u201d\u202fand controlled her\u202flife,\u202fdictating\u202fwhat she wore, how her hair was cut\u202fand\u202fwhere she lived.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cHe was\u202fterrifying. He was completely\u202fdominating of\u202feverything in my life,\u201d Kellen\u202fsaid of\u202fEpstein, according to the transcript. \u201cHe just decimated any source of autonomy that I had.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen described how\u202fit was difficult\u202fto leave Epstein\u2019s orbit, particularly when he offered financial\u202fassistance\u202for\u202fto\u202fmake dreams come\u202ftrue.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cHe was\u202fvery good\u202fat targeting vulnerable people. He would get to know you and your situation and then\u202foffer to\u202fhelp,\u201d Kellen said.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen recalled one instance\u202f\u2013 she did not say when it occurred \u2013\u202fwhere Maxwell abused her on Epstein\u2019s Little St. James Island.\u202fShe said she was not aware Maxwell was involved in abusing minors \u2013 but was not surprised.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cI remember Ghislaine just being\u202fon the bed naked. And I was not expecting her to be there, and I was just\u202fvery surprised\u202fand extremely uncomfortable. And I just remember her kind of like touching me and showing me how to touch Jeffrey and what he liked,\u201d\u202fKellen said.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen accused Maxwell of turning\u202f\u201cJeffrey into the monster that he became,\u201d\u202fdescribing her as\u202f\u201cthe most selfish person I had ever encountered.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cShe was mean and belittling. She would\u202fliterally call\u202fme her slave, her minion, piglet, polyp on a donkey\u2019s ass. Like, she would belittle you as much as she could to make herself more superior,\u201d Kellen\u202fsaid\u202fof\u202fMaxwell.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen said she met Trump for \u2018maybe five minutes\u2019\n<\/h2>\n

\n Throughout her years working for Epstein, Kellen said she only met Donald Trump once for\u202f\u201cmaybe 5 minutes\u201d\u202fat Mar-a-Lago in 2002 or 2003, when she\u202faccompanied\u202fEpstein to use the gym at\u202fTrump\u2019s Florida club, according to the transcript.\u202fShe said she knew Trump and Epstein were \u201cfriendly\u201d because Epstein had photos of Trump in multiple of his homes.\n <\/p>\n

\n She recalled that Trump banned Epstein from returning to his club after he hit on a \u201cmember\u2019s daughter,\u201d and\u202fthat\u202fthe falling out between the two men occurred after they were bidding on the same property in Palm Beach.\n <\/p>\n

\n She also said she was on\u202fEpstein\u2019s\u202fprivate\u202fplane with former President Bill Clinton\u202ffor\u202fall of\u202fhis trips with Epstein to Asia and Africa,\u202fand saw Bill Gates,\u202fformer\u202fPrince Andrew, Ehud Barak and Leon Black, among others, interacting\u202fwith Epstein.\u202fShe did not allege any\u202fwrongdoing\u202fby any of those men.\n <\/p>\n

\n Though Kellen described her\u202fown abuse\u202fand\u202fexperiences,\u202fher\u202fattorney made clear\u202fin the\u202finterview\u202fthat she\u202fwould\u202fnot\u202ftalk about \u201cother persons\u2019 victimization.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cThe reasons for this include her own mental trauma, her ability to withstand sustained questioning on these points, legislative purpose and pertinency, concerns about the private rights of individuals including my client, and the protection of her constitutional rights\u201d Kellen\u2019s lawyer Kimberly Hamm told the committee.\n <\/p>\n

\n Kellen said she would be\u202fmore\u202fwilling to\u202fanswer about\u202fother victims\u202fif\u202fshe was given immunity by the Department of Justice or the Oversight Committee.\n <\/p>
